Correlation Between Professional Networking And The Film...
The purpose of this research paper is to examine whether or not professional networking plays a role in the success of a film composer and if so, how significant that role is. This study will provide an overview of the correlation between professional networking and the film music industry. The first part of this paper will give a general overview of the film music industry and the type of experiences one would have in the profession. The study will then look into more specific instances of professional networking in the film music industry by analysing case studies of significant composers and how their careers have been affected by professional networking. While there is not really a shortage of film and television being created, breaking into the film music industry can be quite difficult. Being a film composer requires a very broad spectrum of skills. You need to be skilled at composing and producing music, that much is a given. But to really succeed you need to have interpersonal and business skills. These skills are crucial to creating and maintaining professional networks which are the key to getting work in this industry.
